New Zealand Red Cross is deeply concerned by the recent escalation of hostilities in parts of the Middle East. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has warned that the intensification and expansion of military operations across the Middle East is placing civilian lives in grave danger. 

As hostilities intensify across the Middle East, countries such as Iran are facing growing humanitarian impacts, with daily life disrupted and essential infrastructure affected. 

Across the wider Middle East region, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies are responding to increasing humanitarian needs as hostilities escalate.

Red Cross and Red Crescent teams are on the ground in affected countries, responding to humanitarian needs where access allows. This includes emergency medical support, preparedness activities, and coordination with local authorities. 

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is working closely with National Societies in the region as the situation evolves, supporting response efforts and monitoring emerging humanitarian needs.

Your donation today will help support Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, including International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to:

• Provide emergency medical care to the ill or injured
• Supply clean water, food, and shelter to displaced families
•  Support the last functioning hospitals and health facilities
• Protect the safety and well-being of aid workers
