The Pacific is one of the world's most disaster-vulnerable regions. By donating to our Pacific Disaster Fund, you will help ensure that when a disaster or emergency affects our Pacific neighbours, together, we are ready to respond and provide life-changing relief.
Each year, typically between November and April, an average of 10 tropical cyclones form in the Pacific. Any one of these cyclones has the potential to make landfall, bringing torrential rain, flooding and gale-force winds. Within moments, extreme wind and torrential rain of a tropical cyclone can destroy homes, livelihoods and community infrastructure, sweeping away almost everything in its path.
In addition to the threat posed by cyclones, the Pacific region is also vulnerable to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunami. As the impacts of climate change intensify, our Pacific neighbours are becoming increasingly vulnerable to the devastating effects of emergencies.

Our Pacific Disaster Fund enables us to deploy international delegates and specialist IT & Telecommunications equipment to provide critical assistance in restoring communications when disaster strikes. Emergency communications are vital following a disaster, enabling local Red Cross teams to assess needs, coordinate their response and deliver urgent relief to affected communities.

Tax Receipts
To receive a tax receipt after donating via internet banking email fundraising@redcross.org.nz after you have made the donation.
Tell us your name, email, phone number, amount donated, and date deposited.
We will email you a receipt.
If you need us to post you a receipt, please tell us your address.
